Project: Care packages for women arriving to Libra House  

Organization: Libra House 

The Libra House is a crisis shelter in Happy Valley Goose Bay that provides an emergency domestic violence shelter for women and their children who are at risk or experiencing violence and/or abuse at home. Many other services are offered by The Libra House including transportation, support, education, and many others all in a confidential and non-judgmental setting. 

The grant from The FIG Fund was used to buy pyjamas for the women and children who seek shelter at the Libra House, often arriving without their belongings.  Providing a place for a warm shower with a clean pair of pyjamas to put on upon arrival to the shelter, provides extra comfort for these women when they are in such dire situations.
